We see the Roman Western Catholic Church evolving over time. New doctrines such as Papal Supremecy and infallibility, Indulgences, the term 'transubstantiation', and the Immaculate Coocenption have been created over the years. Comments?
It would be better to say that the Papal church has devolved. It has gone from being a very, very important part of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, to being a branch broken off. When the Magisterium of the Roman catholic church finally and irrevocably embraced Filioque as a dogma to be believed, (neccessary for salvation) as the false-council of Lyons put it, the Magisterium of the Roman catholic church blasphemed the Holy Spirit, and plunged the Papal church into darkness. It continues to fall further and further.
Even after 2,000 years, it is still necessary to defend, indeed to explain, that the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ, our Lord, the Incarnate Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. This is because of the indefensible proposal that the Church, after the Apostles, "evolved" into an organised form - with hierarchical authority, set laws and liturgies, etc - all of this having no causal connection from Christ.
Put quite simply, the idea is heretical, that is, contrary to the teaching of the Church about her own origin. The Church's teaching faithfully describes the action of Jesus Christ in setting up what was necessary as the means of continuing his work of being "the way, the truth and the life."

I am a former Protestant who stepped into the Eastern Orthodox Church for the first time on Sunday, January 27, 2008. I was baptized/chrismated on Sunday, March 9, 2008 into the Orthodox Church. By God's grace, my journey arrived safely into the arms of The Church.
